Computer Generation  First Generation (1940s-1950s) 1. Vacuum Tubes : These early computers used vacuum tubes to control the flow of electrical current. Vacuum tubes were bulky, unreliable, and prone to overheating. 2. Large Size : First-generation computers were massive, often occupying entire rooms. They were heavy, cumbersome, and required significant space to operate. 3. Machine Language : Programming was done using machine language, which consisted of binary code (0s and 1s). This made programming tedious and error-prone. 4. Limited Functionality : These computers were designed for specific tasks, such as scientific calculations or military applications. 5. Examples : ENIAC (Electronic Numerical Integrator and Computer), UNIVAC 1, and EDVAC (Electronic Discrete Variable Automatic Computer).   Second Generation (1950s-1960s) 1. Transistors : The invention of transistors revolutionized computing. Transistors were smaller, faster, and more reliable tha...
